الملخص
تتناول الورقة موضوع الأقليات في الدولة العثمانية، إذ تقسم على قسمين؛ الأول؛ يعرف بالأقليات بشكل عام والأقليات التي عاشت في كنف الدولة العثمانية بشكل خاص، أما القسم الثاني؛ فيعد الشق التطبيقي من البحث إذ يركز فيه على أوضاع تلك الأقليات، محاولين الإجابة عن سؤالين جوهريين هما: كيف عاشت مختلف الأقليات الدينية والعرقية داخل الدولة العثمانية؟ ولماذا نجد ذلك التعارض الكبير في الآراء بين من يعد أن الدولة العثمانية كانت حاضنة وحامية لأقليات عدّة، وبين من يرى فيها بلدًا محتلاً أخضع تلك الأقليات عن طريق العنف وحاول طمس هويتها؟ ويبن هذا وذاك صراع محتدم لكل اتجاه منهما مبرراته ومنطلقاته التي بنى من خلالها أحكامه وآراءه، وعليه فقد عملت من خلال بحثي هذا أن مقاربة وجهات النظر وفق ما توفر لي من معطيات.

Abstract
This paper deals with the issue of minorities in the Ottoman State. These minorities is divided into two divisions: the first division is known as minorities in general and the minorities who lived within the confines of the Ottoman State in particular. The second division which is the applied section of the research, where we focus on the circumstances of these minorities, trying to answer two essential questions: How did the various religious and ethnic minorities live within the Ottoman State? In addition, why do we find this great conflict of opinions between those who consider that the Ottoman State was an incubator and protector of several minorities, and those who see it as a colonial state that subjugated those minorities through violence, and tried to obliterate their identity? Between the two conflicting opinions resulted a sharp conflict for each of them with their justifications and premises, through which they built their judgments and opinions. Based on that, I have worked through my research this that the approach of viewpoints relying on the available data and resources.
